Free Legal Costs Insurance
We provide our Landlords Legal Costs Insurance free of charge* with every passed tenant reference obtained from Keysafe Tenant Vetting only where it has been arranged through an approved Keysafe Tenant Vetting Letting Agent.
You will be issued with a free legal costs insurance policy that is valid for a period of 6 or 12 months from the date the tenancy agreement commences depending on the length of your tenancy agreement and subject to the agreement starting within 60 days from the reference pass date and the tenancy agreement being for a fixed term no greater than 24 months. Where the tenancy agreement exceeds 12 months, it must contain a 12 month break clause.
You will also be given the oportunity to upgrade your policy to include Rent Protection cover.
Renewing your Landlords Legal Costs policy
We will write to you approximately 3 weeks prior to the expiry date offering you the opportunity to renew your legal costs insurance policy at a cost of £20.00 per tenant for 6 months cover or £30.00 per tenant for 12 months cover. If you have upgraded your free legal costs insurance policy to include Rent Protection cover, the rating structure changes and the combined renewal premium is charged at £75.00 for 6 months cover or £120.00 for 12 months cover, charged per tenancy agreement not per tenant.
Elegibility for Free Legal Costs *
- The tenants are at least 18 years old
- The tenants are not DSS or Asylum Seekers
- An appropriate Tenancy Agreement is in force
- The property in question is let entirely for residential use only
- A satisfactory Credit Reference has been obtained on the Tenant, prior to granting a Tenancy
- At least 1 months rent should be taken as a deposit
All insurance premiums quoted include Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) of 6%.
